COOLING-TOWER MONITORING AND DOSING

INDION Autochem for cooling-tower dosing and control

Automated cooling-tower monitoring and dosing control with INDION Autochem.

Overview

INDION Autochem Ultima is an intelligent cooling-tower dosing and monitoring system. It measures selected water conditions and controls configured treatment feeds, timers and safety limits. The system helps operators manage cooling-water treatment more consistently; it does not replace the need to select a suitable chemical programme.

Applications

  • Cooling towers

Monitoring and configured control of selected cooling-water treatment functions.

  • Chemical feed systems

Selected inhibitor, dispersant and biocide feed functions, depending on model and configuration.

  • Operations monitoring

Review of measured conditions, alarms and dosing activity.

Process use and chemical role

How Autochem fits into the treatment loop

Process stage or systemChemical or operational role
MeasureInputs can include conductivity or TDS, ORP and pH. Model-dependent options include backup inputs, inhibitor monitoring and additional sensors.
ControlThe controller applies configured limits, feed settings and timers to selected inhibitor, dispersant and biocide functions.
VerifyThe display and historical trend graphs help operators review system conditions and dosing activity.
CommunicateThe leaflet lists cellular, Wi-Fi and Ethernet communication options, plus USB settings transfer. Available functions vary by model.

Benefits and intended outcomes

  • OUTCOME 1

Monitoring and configured controls help operators manage selected cooling-water dosing functions consistently.

  • OUTCOME 2

Display and trend functions support review of system conditions and dosing activity.

  • OUTCOME 3

Autochem does not select the chemical programme or replace site-specific control limits.

Product range and examples

  • INDION Autochem Ultima

Cooling-tower dosing and monitoring system with model-dependent conductivity/TDS, ORP, pH, inhibitor, dispersant, biocide timer and backup functions.

  • INDION Autochem Ultima Advance

The leaflet describes optional backup conductivity, third-party sensors, fluorometer-based inhibitor monitoring, corrosion sensors, turbidity and dissolved oxygen.

  • Communications

Cellular, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and USB options are described in the leaflet.

  • Documented functions

Standard functions listed in the leaflet include conductivity/TDS, ORP, inhibitor feed, single or dual pH control, dispersant feed, biocide timers, backup ORP and backup pH. The Ultima Advance adds options such as backup conductivity, third-party sensors, fluorometer-based inhibitor monitoring, corrosion sensors, turbidity and dissolved oxygen.

Selection and implementation

SYSTEM-SPECIFIC SELECTION

Confirm model, sensor package, control functions, communications and integration requirements against the current specification. Setpoints and dosing logic must be configured for the water system and approved treatment programme.

FAQs

Which water system is Autochem designed for?

The supplied leaflet describes INDION Autochem Ultima as a cooling-tower dosing system.

Does every model include the same sensors and communications?

No. Sensor, control and communication options depend on the selected variant.

Can Autochem select the treatment chemistry?

Autochem monitors and controls configured dosing functions. The treatment programme and setpoints must be selected for the water system.
