I diametri dei pori delle membrane di ultrafiltrazione vanno da 10 a 200 A (da 0,001 a 0,02 micron). I solventi e le specie con un diametro inferiore alla dimensione dei pori della membrana passeranno attraverso la membrana ed emergeranno come un ultrafiltrato chiamato permeato. Le specie rilasciate si concentrano gradualmente nel corso d&#8217;acqua trattenuto.<\/p><p>Le membrane di ultrafiltrazione sono riutilizzabili e pulibili con prodotti chimici standard.<\/p><p>L&#8217;ultrafiltrazione dell&#8217;acqua di processo consente<\/p><ul><li>Eliminazione di praticamente tutte le particelle, sostanze sospese, batteri, virus e specie pirogene dalle acque di processo farmaceutiche e industriali.<\/li><li>Eliminazione dei materiali colloidali (silice non reattiva, ferro, alluminio, ecc.).<\/li><li>Rimozione di materia organica ad alto peso molecolare.<\/li><\/ul><p>La membrana di ultrafiltrazione \u00e8 un materiale polimerico fine (polietere solfone) con una struttura porosa anisotropa. La differenza di pressione tra il flusso di alimentazione e il lato prodotto della membrana \u00e8 direttamente correlata al flusso del prodotto. Quando viene applicata pressione al flusso di alimentazione, questo scorre tangenzialmente alla superficie della membrana. L&#8217;ultrafiltrazione \u00e8 un processo di separazione dimensionale. Tipicamente, le membrane di ultrafiltrazione sono valutate in base al loro peso molecolare, abbreviato MWCO.
